Cobalt Aluminium

This was the first ever client project that I took on. This project was for a subsidiary company of Cobalt Group, called Cobalt Aluminium. Cobalt Aluminium sells windows, doors, and accessories. The client needed a website which would display these products and their technical details.

This website was created with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Web technologies used:

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Design process:

As Cobalt Group were rebranding and needed a new website, I had to create a new style which was professional, and minimalist. I had to also make sure that this design would be reusable for sites that I’d make in the future, and would work with their brand identity.

Using Figma, I created a few design variants and presented them to my client. After receiving a positive response, I stuck with the design they preferred and moved onto the next stage, which was development.

Challenges and their solutions:

As this was my first time developing a website for a client, I made sure to take my time and be thorough, to ensure I don't make any silly mistakes. One issue that I came across, was that as I had not learnt React.js at this time, I had to create a HTML file for every single item. This also meant that I couldn't just create an array containing all the objects and adjusting the data like I would now. Instead, I had to go into every file and change the information accordingly.

Unfortunately, this also led to the scenario where the client wanted me to make a few small changes to the products, which led me down a rabbit hole of endlessly changing data like a robot, rather than just changing the object.

In the end, this website was a great success, and led to me creating a few more websites for the client. This time, the solution was just to give it a little elbow grease.

I hope you enjoyed this project!
